Hi future gappies!
I’m Hannah, I’m 21 and I moved from Australia to the other side of the world!
I have been working as an activity assistant in the United Kingdom since March, teaching kids and families to do a range of outdoor activities. Anything from zipwire and trapeze, to archery and rifles! I get to spend each day doing a new activity with different children and guests in the beautiful town of Torquay.
The last two months have been some of the most challenging and rewarding times of my life! Throughout this journey so far, I have been privileged to visit so many places and experience different cultures. I am so passionate about travelling and immersing myself into diverse lifestyles and this opportunity gave me just that.
Since being in the UK, I have travelled locally to areas around Torquay/Torbay and Exeter, as well as a few bigger cities like Bristol and London. I also just spent the weekend in Paris! Imagine that! Just popping off for a weekend in another country.
It truly is so insane and exciting to me that I have so many places so close just waiting to be explored. I have grown so much as a person and can’t wait to find the many more lessons I will learn.
My best advice for future gappies?
If you love travelling and are keen to work with some incredible people then I definitely recommend Letz Live and the Activity Assistant program in the UK for your gap year!

All positions are paid with participants receiving food and accommodation during their placement at one of the activity centres. The Letz Live programme offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in exciting cultures. You will gain independence and make lasting connections around the world, before returning to your home country.
A quick reminder to those interested in a UK Gap Year, and perhaps not eligible (won’t be 18 or do not wish to spend January through to December overseas).
