Information for Career Advisors

Together we can continue to support and encourage students to live well-educated and rewarding lives after school, through travel.

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our gap year programme opportunities. We have seen an increase in popularity both in enquiries and participant numbers from students across the globe, which has motivated us to build upon our already exciting programmes. Here you will find information to share with your students for opportunities in 2022.

What is a Gap year?

A paid Gap Year

Working in a school environment is just one example of a gap experience and one that we support with great enthusiasm. We receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from gap participants about how working in secure and established employment for a year while having the flexibility to travel (hello school holidays!), has prepared them for life at university and beyond. Their life-long connections and social skills made overseas is invaluable for future work-related experiences.

A Letz Live Gap Year

Food & Accommodation is provided to Gap Participants during the school term. Further information about accommodation is provided by each school in the job description which participants receive.

During the school holidays / term breaks Gap Participants are encouraged to travel and return once school term resumes. This is an ideal opportunity for participants to travel with new friends formed during the term.

Letz Live partner schools welcome participants for either a 6 or 11 month placements. This allows participants flexibility with any plans following their gap year. It is important to note that schools do prefer a longer commitment.

Remuneration varies between schools. Please refer to each programme page on our website.  Participants do not need to buy food or pay for accommodation, allowing them to save.

What is the typical application timeline

Step 1
Apply online before the end of March for a Gap Year the following year.
Step 2
As part of the application process, we conduct an online interview, which takes approximately 30 - 40 min with our country manager. Students have the opportunity to discuss their preferences including location and job description.
Step 3
Country managers begin to find suitable placements for Applicants by discussing candidates with schools. We are on a first name basis with all host school’s boarding staff and have personally visited all schools. We pride ourselves on our hands-on approach and our genuine interest in our gap participants and our schools.
Step 4
Letz Live country managers will send out job offers in the May/June/July of the same year, detailing the placement and job description for the applicant to make the decision.
Step 5
Once applicants accept the offer, we will send further information for their Gap Year, including contact school information. Participants then can connect with others who will be part of the programme and may even be placed at the same host school or one nearby. We anticipate each January intake placements to be finalised 6 months prior to departure, which is approximately by early July - end of August.
