Stunning coastlines, bustling metropolises and tropical rainforests alive with nature. Incredible food served with the warmest of hospitality. A land where old meets new, and hidden gems are just waiting to be discovered. And you have the opportunity to live it.

It’s no wonder Thailand plays host to millions of visitors every year; the history, hospitality and natural beauty of this South-East Asian country has long captivated the hearts and minds of those who venture to its shores. And with the help of our Thailand gap year program, you can experience Thailand as the locals do, immersing yourself in the culture by living it and breathing it.

As a gap assistant, you’ll live and work in a Thai international school where English is the first language of all students. Our partners with only the most reputable of schools, ensuring that you’ll enjoy your placement at a secure, clean and modern facility, often sharing your experience with a large percentage of staff from Western countries. These colleagues will be as welcoming as the locals, helping you to acclimatise to your Thai life, both professionally and socially. In fact, our partnered schools are so good at sharing their slice of paradise with new gap assistants that many previous participants have referred to their Thai schools as the ‘Hogwarts of Asia’!

And between terms, you’re free to explore all the wonders that this stunning country has to offer. Ride a tuk-tuk around Bangkok, learn the customs of the traditional hill tribes in the north of Chiang Mai, or simply lay on a secluded beach with sand as white as fine china.

Our gap year program will include meals, accommodation, a weekly allowance, visa assistance, a comprehensive in-country orientation and ongoing support from our committed team.

Our Thailand gap year program is available as a 12-month commitment. Commencement dates and durations are as follows:
August to June (typically for Northern Hemisphere residents)
January to December (typically for Southern Hemisphere residents)
At this point there are no shorter-term placement options available. But if you can only commit to 6 months, stay tuned for any updates!

Participants can expect to receive between AU$350.00 and AU$600.00 per month as an allowance during the school term, as well as the free food and accommodation that is included. For those who demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm, there may also be opportunities to travel on school camps and day trips. These additional trips usually come at little or no expense to the gap assistant!
