So you think time abroad with Letz Live is for you?

Applying for a Gap placement with Letz Live couldn't be easier and is completed via our online application in seven easy steps. As you progress through the application, you will be required to enter some personal particulars, answer several questions regarding you application, and select two countries that you are interested in partaking a Gap placement in -- PLEASE BE AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE. For STEP 5 of the online application, you will be required to upload three application documents:

  1. Letter of Introduction
    In your letter of introduction, we would like to get to know more about you and learn your interests, hobbies, skills and attributes. You should indicate the reasons behind your motivation to undertake a Gap placement with Letz Live, and advise us how a school would benefit from your employment as their Gap assistant. Also include any past travel experiences you have had - whether it was on a school trip, a co-curricular activity of with your family. You should aim to have your Letter of Introduction approximately two pages in length.
     
  2. Up-To-Date Resume
    Your second document to upload is an up-to-date resume (the same as what you would pass on to any prospective employer here in Australia).
     
  3. References
    The Letz Live recruitment team requires you to obtain three written references from your three nominated referees - one of which must come from your current education provider. Other written references may be obtained from (but are not limited to) sporting coaches, music tutors, family friends or employers - please do not list your parents, family members or your best friend. (You will also note in STEP 4 that we require the contact phone number and email address of your nominated referees as we are required by employment law in some countries to show evidence that Letz Live has made direct contact with your supporting referees). 

The final step of the online application form invites you to finalise your Preparation Fee of $99.00*. Your application will not be submitted until this fee has been finalised. 

I have completed the relevant documentation and lodged my application. What next?

Fantastic! Our recruitment team will now begin to process your application for a Gap placement overseas by contacting your listed referees and asking them to complete a confidential evaluation form. Once we have received these evaluation forms back from all three of your listed referees, you will be invited to select a time and day for a Letz Live representative to contact you for a pre-screening interview. 

Your pre-screening interview is a quick chat with our recruitment team where we will discuss your application in greater detail and further outline the positions that may be available in the countries of your preference. It also doubles as a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about Letz Live and our programs abroad. 

Following the completion of your pre-screening interview, you will receive an email from Letz Live inviting you to attend a face-to-face interview. In the event that the face-to-face interviews are not held at a nearby location to you, an interview will take place via Skype or telephone. Interviews are usually 30 minutes in duration. 

Should our recruitment team find you are a suitable applicant for a placement abroad, we will tender your application to schools who we feel would value your skills, interests and enthusiasm. If our recruitment team finds that you would not be a suitable candidate for a placement in our program you will be informed by email within 10 days of your interview taking place. We do stress that whilst every effort is made to place applicants abroad, it just may not be that your particular attributes or skills are what schools abroad are on the lookout for. Schools can be quite forthright in the qualities, skills and attributes they are seeking.

We hope to have all forthcoming placements finalised by July each year.

Please note, we do not divulge the names of the schools we place Gap assistants at until a formal offer of employment has been tendered by the respective school.
